My theme for today is..."I'll either find a way or make one!!!"- Jennie S. Bev. (I just saw this on her website this morning, loved it and wanted to use it)
Last night I was up with my daughter and went on Facebook to pass the time. I didn't stay on their long but while on there I came across some pictures of my girl Cheryl M. Brown dancing with Mya, the singer. It inspired me. Not really because Cheryl was dancing (even though she is a really good dancer), it was because I know that Cheryl is living out her dreams. She owns her own dance company in the DC area and is also a filmmaker. She's living out her life on her own terms, and I have a lot of respect for that. I've known Cheryl for almost 20 years now, and its nice to see her still moving forward.
She's probably going to be surprised that I'm talking about her on my blog...I hope she doesn't mind :)
Anyway...over the past couple of years I haven't had the opportunity to really go after what I want, the way I know I need to. But I can go on and on about that, but that's not necessary.
The point is...instead of sitting around feeling overwhelmed about not having enough money to get my cd mastered and pressed up, etc., etc. I just need to find a way to do it, or make a way. I might just have to sell bootleg versions of my own cd until I save enough money to get it professionally done :)
Its not like I haven't done it before...
I found a way to earn my Master's in Psychology back in 1999, when the chairperson of the department and one of the full professors didn't like me (to this day, I still don't know why :) ) and tried to do everything in their power to keep me from getting it. I had never experienced such hatred from people before in my life...but fortunately my other professors noticed as well, and had my back...
- I got kicked out for getting two C's (from those two professors), fought to get back into the program, re-took those classes with different professors and got A's, had to re-write my Master's thesis from scratch, and finish it in essentially one semester so that I could graduate with my class. I learned two things about myself back then...(1) My God has given me all the tools that I need to survive and live in my purpose.(2)When I feel like my back is against the wall or like people are trying to hold me down, it only fuels me to become stronger and I end up accomplishing what I need to.
With that being said, I will get on with my day....Peace and Love.

My Video
For months I have been having problems with embedding uploaded videos. I decided to try again today...

Yesterday one of my Facebook friends (Malakh-El) posted a short video of him and someone else dancing and I got re-inspired. Their dancing skills were tight, but that really wasn't the point. The point was there was a resurgence in me to resume doing video blogs and finding reasons to display my talents on video. Deri (my hubbie, a filmmaker) started taping me earlier this year, and we got so caught up in other things that we slacked off. The last time I was on tape, was in March when Deri shot my music video.
After that my pregnancy really started to "show" so I started to feel a little awkward about doing blogs. Pregnancy is beautiful of course, and I was proud of that but I really started to feel uncomfortable and I didn't want it to show up on tape.
Now, I'm planning to set up a new shooting schedule with Deri and I'm also re-considering another video idea I've had for a while. Be looking out for them...I'll keep you posted!

Back in Stride Again!
I went to a Discmakers seminar tonight featuring motivational speaker, JaWar. It was very educational and motivating. Now I am re-charged and ready to go!
